Documents come in. Pre-coded they come to you.
fatoura reads your clients' incoming and outgoing invoices, cash receipts and bank statements, proposes the journal entry against your own chart of accounts, and puts it in front of you. You decide — and only then is anything posted.
fatoura is in active development. This page describes what is built, not what is planned.

Confirmed by you
Three steps, and the third one is yours
- 1
Upload
You upload documents in the workspace — or your client sends them in over a link, with no account and no app.
- 2
Read and pre-code
fatoura recognises the issuer, dates, amounts and VAT rates, maps them onto accounts from your chart, and marks what it based each field on.
- 3
Review and confirm
You see the proposal next to the document, correct what is wrong, and confirm. Nothing leaves the system without that.
What fatoura does
- Double-entry, not categories
- A journal entry with a header and legs, debits equal to credits, on SKR03 or SKR04 with its own chart version per document date.
- Bank statements line by line
- A statement becomes one entry per movement. The bank account comes from your client's own IBAN, not from a guess.
- VAT in view
- UStVA by Kennzahl, open items, and debtor/creditor reconciliation — computed, never transmitted.
- Export in DATEV format
- A Buchungsstapel as an EXTF file, every entry exported exactly once. Payroll master data separately, for your own payroll system.
- Rules, not instinct
- §13b, Kleinunternehmer, intra-community acquisition, margin scheme: impossible combinations are blocked and named.
- Filed in your own cloud
- Documents live in your Google Drive or OneDrive, in a folder tree per client and month. fatoura stores no document files.
And what does your client notice?
As little as possible. You send a link; they upload their documents — from a phone, with no account and nothing to install. That is all they see: no entries, no statuses, no reason to ask you about it.
- No login, no app, no password
- The link can be revoked at any time
- German and English, because not every client reads German
Where the data sits
EU hosting
Operated in the European Union. Document files stay in the cloud storage your firm runs itself.
Tenant isolation in the database
Every access runs through row-level security — isolation is a property of the database, not a query somebody has to remember to write correctly.
Accountable
Every change to an entry is recorded field by field. Every export records which entries it contained.
